Before your photoshoot
In the weeks leading up to your photoshoot I'm here to answer any questions you have and to help you feel prepared for the day.
When booking, we'll agree on a rough plan for the session and decide on the location(s) for our shoot - most often this is your home or a local park / green space (e.g. Wandsworth Common, Clapham Common, Tooting Common), but we can also consider other options depending on your preferences.
I will share guidance on what to wear so you can be confident your pictures will turn out great!
If we're starting off at your home, please don't worry about making the house spotless but please do clear away clutter from key surfaces like kitchen worktops / tables. I can work around a bit of mess, and move things around as needed on the day.
If we're doing an outdoor photoshoot, please come prepared with the essentials for the children/babies - water, snacks, nappies, wipes, and layers that can be easily added / removed if the weather changes.
Snacks and water for grown ups are usually a good idea too!
During your photoshoot
If we're starting off at home, I'll ask for a quick tour of the house when I arrive so I can check out the best spots lighting-wise. If we're doing an outdoor photoshoot I'll come armed with suggestions of the best nearby spots.
I'll usually try to build a bit of a bond with the children to get them comfortable with me and my camera - this might mean taking a photo of them and then showing it to them on my camera, or showing an interest in the toy they're playing with.
Feel free to bring special teddies / comforters and toys / activities with you - they can be quite sweet additions to the photos, as well as helping to keep the children happy on the day.
As a lifestyle photographer, I aim to capture natural moments, so throughout the photoshoot I'll guide you to the good lighting and make suggestions for poses or actions / activities, but I'll try to leave you to interact as a family as you would if I weren't there. I want you to be silly, to have fun, to laugh and play, and I'll just be here snapping away!
Our photoshoot will very much be baby/child-led to ensure that they have a happy and fun experience, so I'll follow your cues as to when we need breaks for snacks etc.
After your photoshoot
I aim to deliver your edited gallery within 2-3 weeks of our session, with some sneak peeks sooner!
You will be sent a link to a private online gallery (password protected) where you can view and select your favourite images.
High-resolution digital images will be available for download, allowing you to share and print your images freely.
I always want to hear your feedback after the session and once you've got your images.
I'm sure you'll be delighted with the results, but if for any reason you'd like some changes, please do let me know and I'll do my best to help.
