Before your photoshoot
In the weeks leading up to your photoshoot I'm here to answer any questions you have and to help you feel prepared for the day.
When booking, we'll agree on a rough plan for the day and decide on the location(s) for our shoot - most often this is your home, but we can also consider other options depending on your preferences. We will of course have a date set, but I know babies don't always come when you're expecting them, so if we need to reschedule, I will always do my best to accommodate those changes at short notice.
I will share guidance on what to wear, for both your little one and the rest of the family, so you can be confident your pictures will turn out great!
If we're doing an in-home session, please don't worry about making the house spotless - I can work around a bit of mess, and will just move things around as needed on the day.
It would be helpful to clear bedside tables of clutter, and have one bed made up with white or neutral bedsheets that we can lay baby on for some snuggly shots.
If you have an heirloom blanket, or anything specific you'd like to be photographed (e.g. a teddy or specific outfit), please make sure you have these to hand on the day.
During your photoshoot
Most newborn shoots begin at home, so when I arrive I'll ask for a quick tour so I can scope out the best spots for our session. I'm ideally looking for rooms with lots of natural light, with large windows or doors.
I will follow baby's lead throughout the session - if baby is awake and happy, we will capitalise on the moment and try to get some gorgeous smiley or eyes-open pictures in different rooms and poses. When it time for feeding and nap I'll allow you space to settle baby as you need, and then try to get the sleepy, cozy photos, as well as the tiny details like toes!
If baby will only sleep on you, that's not a problem - I can adjust my approach, and we'll still get some lovely natural shots.
The most important thing is that you and your baby are comfortable and happy throughout our session.
After your photoshoot
I aim to deliver your edited gallery within 2-3 weeks of our session, with some sneak peeks sooner!
You will be sent a link to a private online gallery (password protected) where you can view and select your favourite images.
High-resolution digital images will be available for download, allowing you to share and print your images freely.
I always want to hear your feedback after the session and once you've got your images. I'm sure you'll be delighted with the results, but if for any reason you'd like some changes, please do let me know and I'll do my best to help.
